Andrew Fletcher

Andrew completed a PhD in Plant Physiology at the University of Queensland in 2003 and initially worked on nutrient cycling in natural ecosystems under different rainfall conditions. From 2004 to 2007 Andrew worked as a post-doctoral research fellow within the CRC Sugar on physiological adaptations of sugarcane to nitrogen fertilisation. Since October 2007 he has been working at CMLR to develop robust spatial methods for assessment of mine impact and rehabilitation outcomes including novel remote sensing methodology to meet constrained budgets and access typical of mine sites. Fusion of field and remotely sensed data at high spatial and temporal resolutions are developed to allow early identification of spatially explicit and rapid surface changes.
